It will not only commemorate the centenary of the end of WW1, but also the centenary of C.H.H Parry’s death, with four of his Songs of Farewell. The programme also has a local theme, with settings of two poems by Edward Thomas, composed by musician and Froxfield resident, Mike Orchard.

This year’s autumn concert is a fundraising event to improve Froxfield’s village facilities, many of which are used by the choir on a weekly basis! The black-tie event of music and readings, will commemorate the centenary of the end of WW1. It will have a local theme and include a setting of two poems by well-known local poet Edward Thomas, composed by Mike Orchard, a member of the choir.

The evening will begin with a candlelit reception in the church at 6.45pm. The concert will start at 7.30pm and be followed by dinner in the village hall.
