Michael Servant was appointed Music Director of Froxfield Choir in July 2016. He has extensive experience of conducting amateur choirs, as well as working with orchestras and small ensembles and professional soloists, both vocal and instrumental. Michael has been Conductor of Chichester Amateur Operatic Society since 2012, and the Director of Music at the church of St Peter and St Paul, West Wittering, near Chichester, since 2011. He also teaches classroom music at the primary schools in Fishbourne  and West Wittering.

Previously Michael worked abroad extensively, including 15 years in Norway, during which time he held many positions including that of Director of Music and organist at Berg Church, Halden; conductor of Berg Choral Society and conductor of Halden Symphony Orchestra. In Italy, from 2007-2009, Michael was Director of Music at St Mark’s Church, Florence and taught music at the International School of Florence.

Michael’s hobbies include trying to improve his bagpipe playing, much to the annoyance of his neighbours.
