Remembrance Concert: on Saturday 12 November at 7.30pm we will be singing in All Saints’ Church, Steep. This will be the first concert under the baton of our new Music Director, Michael Servant. Music will include Bob Chilcott’s Requiem and the first ever performance of Song of Solomon, a new work by Chichester-based composer Laura Murray. Tickets are £10 and available from One Tree Books, Petersfield.

The choir will also be singing at the Christmas event at Gilbert White’s museum in Selborne on Saturday 3 December and the Carol Service in Privett on Saturday 17 December. The first concert in 2017 will be Karl Jenkins’ The Armed Man on Saturday 25th March in the church of St Peter and St Paul, West Wittering.

At the end of the summer term we bid farewell to Richard McVeigh after two and half successful years as Music Director. We wish him every success in the future and thank him for his enthusiasm and commitment to the choir. The concert in June was a fitting tribute to the hard work he has put in and the improvements we have made as a choir.

From September we welcome our new Music Director Michael Servant, a professional musician with extensive experience of conducting both choirs and orchestras. Alongside working with Froxfield Choir he will continue as Director of Music at St Peter & St Paul, West Wittering and conductor of the Chichester Amateur Operatic Society, as well as teaching music in schools. Michael’s details will be uploaded on the Music Director page of the website in September.

Plans for the end of 2016 include: a Remembrance Day concert on Saturday 12 November (which will replace the concert in Petersfield that had been scheduled for 27 November); singing at the Christmas event at Gilbert White’s museum in Selborne on Saturday 3 December and the Carol Service in Privett on Saturday 17 December. Further details of these events, and concerts and services in 2017, will follow in September.
