The schools return in September and so does Froxfield Choir! Our first rehearsal is on Thursday 6 September at 7.45 pm in Froxfield Village Hall. The AGM will be on Thursday 4 October. We always welcome new singers to the choir (particularly male voices). If you are interested in coming along to a rehearsal please contact us through the website or call the chairman, Sue Clegg, on 01730 827505.

2018/2019 is going to be a busy one for the choir. Our November concert is on Saturday 10 November in St Peter’s, High Cross and, as it is the eve of Remembrance Sunday and the centenary of the end of WW1, it will be a Remembrance concert with pieces by Hubert Parry, George Butterworth and Edward Thomas interspersed with readings. This black-tie event, organised in conjunction with the Froxfield Village Fundraising Committee, will be followed by a candlelit reception and dinner in the Village Hall.

Christmas dates: Saturday 1 December, Gilbert White Museum; Sunday 16 December at 6.30pm Privett Carol Service. Choral evensong will be on Sunday 10 February 2019 (venue tbc), and there will be a spring event (tbc) on Saturday 6 April 2019. The summer concert will be on Saturday 15 June 2019 and will be the gala finale to the village’s fund-raising year. The repertoire will include Zimbe! by Alexander L’Estrange, written for an adult and children’s choir.
